**Purpose and Scope:**
The position plays a key role in leading and preparing external financial reports, ensuring TimkenSteel remains in compliance with General Accepted Accounting Principles and developing accounting policies. This position will be responsible for coordinating and managing the preparation and reporting of all the financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows, Statements of Shareholders Equity, Notes to Financial Statements and Management's Discussion and Analysis), which are distributed to senior management, shareholders, financial institutions and governmental agencies (i.e. SEC), while maintaining an effective internal control environment.
**Essential Responsibilities:**
1. Manage the completion of quarterly and annual SEC reporting (Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, Form 8-K, audited Benefit Plans) including financial statements, notes to financial statements and Management's Discussion and Analysis in compliance with US GAAP, SEC regulations and SOX requirements, which will require extensive coordination and collaboration with business partners throughout the TimkenSteel organization.
2. Lead accounting for all stock and deferred compensation related activities, including responsibility for all aspects of stock and deferred compensation accounting, ensuring coordination Total Rewards departments, i.e. detail review of preparation and analysis of accounting entries and periodic forecasting.
3. Manage cross-functional meetings to prepare and analyze certain subjective accruals such as, but not limited to, product warranty, litigation and environmental reserves.
4. Lead research and implementation of new accounting standards and assessing the accounting implications of new complex business initiatives.
5. Lead the establishment and maintenance of TimkenSteel's Accounting Policies.
6. Manage other projects and analysis as necessary.
**_M**_inimum Qualifications:_**_**
Bachelor Degree of Accounting or related field with at least 7 years of SEC reporting experience or
Master degree of Accounting or related field with at least 5 years of SEC reporting experience
CPA required
**_Preferred Qualifications:_**
Bachelor Degree of Accounting or related field with at least 10 years of SEC reporting experience or
Master degree of Accounting or related field with at least 7 years of SEC reporting experience
**_Technical/Functional Skills:_**
* Advanced understanding of US GAAP
* Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills.
* Experience with SOX compliance.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Effectively collaborate across cross-functional departments and work through others.
* Must be accepting of change, competing priorities, high-pressure situations and short deadlines.
* High proficiency with Microsoft office (i.e. Excel, Word).
* Experience with HFM, Workiva and SAP general ledger platforms is a plus.
